What will be the format for pool play?
Ans. Pools will consist of either 3 or 4 teams. Each team will play 2
games in pool play. In the four (4) team pool the winners of the first two
games play each other for first and second and losers play each other for third
and fourth. In a three (3) team format the teams will play each other in a round
robin format to determine first, second and third This link presents examples of both the four (4) and three
(3) team pool format. The pool play will determine where a team will draw into
the Championship Play. This will be explained in detail at the manager's meeting
on Tuesday, 29 July 2008.

Does
the Tournament Committee have any suggestions as to type of gift?
Ans. This is a team decision and this answer should serve as a guideline.
Ask your team players what they would like to receive as a gift to remember
their experience of participating in a national tournament. Here are some
suggestions: some unique idea that is representative of the tournament, team's
home state, softball items and team related items. One unique idea that a team
had was putting together scrapbooks that had a message from each player and
coach including: a picture, information about the team, information about each
player and a comment wishing the other team to have a safe and fun time at the
tournament. Obviously this was a team project that involved all family members
of the team. Just remember that your team gifts should be something
special that is representative of the event you're attending When the
final decision is made see if your team players would be happy receiving
something similar as a gift.
